Been doing research on different media and have purchased some verbatim. Is 8x the best for games?
Also,if I've made a copy on a poor quality disc, can I just recopy from that disc to better media,or will I just get a poor quality back up on a good quality disc? By the way,I havent played back-up yet because my console is'nt ready yet,so I dont know the quality yet.

you should be ok, most of the time it is the PS2 that has problems with the cheap media and not your PC's burner.
8X is what i always use, burned at 4X

it actually is dependent on the PIE/PIF of the disk your reading/ripping from. if the disk has errors due to poor quality the copy will be only as good as the source disk it was ripped from. you can't magically repair failed/corrupted data.

he should be ok though since pc dvd drives are really good for reading data from even scratched dvds.

it doesnt make a rats ass bit of difference, the disk is only going to provide a quality that can be extracted from it. if a PIE/PIF scan provides a quality of 80%, then the new copy will only be 80%.

it may have a disk quality of it's own of near 100% but the data is only 100% of the 80% from the ripped disk. a copy of corrupt data is still corrupt data, no way around that.
