Two days ago my Floppy Disk Drive burned out and melted my 500W PSU wire. Today I got a XFX Nvidia 6600GT I read this article: http://www.overclock.net/faqs/48925-how-tell-you-have-fried-mothe...

That states: "Don't plug in the 4 pin molex extra plug in your video card (if you have one), then turn on computer and wait for small strand of smoke to come up from video card. This will fry both your motherboard and video card surprizingly."

I am scared to plug in my Video Card what should i do?

What on earth?
There's no way you can fry something just by plugging it in, but how did you wreck your floppy disk drive?
The URL you gave isn't valid, but that quote sounds like rubbish to me.

Stuff menlting only occurs when short circuits are happening, in usual scenarios, so something must have gone wrong with your Floppy disk drive, presumably the PSU was tripping out due to the short circuit. Eventually the PSU obviously didn't trip out, and you got badness. In 99.5% of cases, bad things happening are nothing to do with you plugging things in wrong, they're due to faulty manufacture. The exception to this is of course if you start soldering/modifying your own stuff.

I have never heard of a floppy drive frying. I suppose it is possible, but I would be more inclined to believe that your PSU was the problem.

As for the info that you posted about the power plug for the video card, you need to quit visiting bogus sites, because that info is bogus.

Life is good!

A bad PSU can fry a floppy disk drive, it happened to me, but there's no way that any simple operation on your part to the extent of plugging something in, that can damage a floppy drive. Unless you've been messing about with cables, there's something wrong that you don't seem to know about.
