I have a sony laptop which I have hooked up to my guitar amp using a 1/8" male to 1/8" male stereo cable with a 1/8" female to 1/4" male stereo adapter on the end that connects to my guitar amp. I'm in college so naturally I'm poor and do not have the money to buy a real stereo so this is the alternative. My problem is my guitar amp only outputs a mono signal (the left channel) which makes music sound crappy. I'm wondering if their is a program, driver, audio cable, specific windows xp setting, etc. that would combine the two channels (stereo) of my computer to one channel (the left) so that my amp outputs both channels. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to audio specifics so tell me if this makes sense to you.

Your setup makes sense, it's just a crappy one, as you put it. You're going to have poor sound quality because it's an amp. And as far as I can think, it's going to be in mono.

I'm sorry if that sounded snide or something, I was preoccupied at the time. There probably is a way you could get it to work, but its still gunna cost more than a small set of speakers. Invest in it.

yeah i know what you mean, you can do it but it might depend on what soundcard you have. I had a driver called kx for my desktop that let me do that but it's only for Creative Soundblaster soundcards. There may be a similar driver for yours though
