DVDRW read but no write on Apple mac

Hello,

I'm having trouble with Asus DRW-1608P2S. It reads well on Mac, but doesn't allow write.

I built this into a USB External drive. Works great on Windows, just not on Mac.

Is there some way to make the drive 100% compatible with Mac (OS 10.3.9)??

I was informed that the drive is Win compatible, not Mac - but if the enclosure is Mac compatible, it will recognise the drive.

Here are some specs form System Profiler (if it helps):
