Hi

My PS2 Set is a SCPH-39006 NTSC/J Model set.

I burnt the Action Replay V2 Japanese V2.34 image onto a SmartBuy cdr.

I then plonk the cd into my ps2 moded set (M chip V1) and the Action Replay loads.

I select START GAME WITHOUT CHEATS.

I then put in my Maxell M03 code DVD-R backup of Onimusha Dawn of Dreams NTSC/J. It will not recognize the dvd-r. I put in the DVD+R Mitsubishi Verbatim copy of the game and that dosen't boot either.

However when I put in the TYG002 FujiFlim DVD+R version of the backup into the set the action replay boots the disc with no problems

What causes this problem? If I boot the game straight from the Maxell and Mistubishi discs without going through the Action Replay V2 cdr it will load fine.

Is there some other media I should be looking at? Taiyo Yuudens are hard to get off the shelf and can only be gotten through mass order.

Or can I try the booktyping method people talk about.
