King Kong comes out this Tues, March 28th. And when it does I'll use my same programs that I have been using to get the best results out there. Rip with DVDDecrypter(or FabDecrypter... which ever will do the job), then I use DVDRemake to take out the unwanted stuff, then DVDRebuilder with CCE! The best ...... and it won't be hard to do either. I think that there won't be any more encryptions that can't be broken till the new stuff comes out: HD-DVD or Blue-Ray. Soooooo I'm sticking with these programs that have always done the best quality DVD backups. Why should this movie be anything different?

I don't think it will be hard to do, just a lot of compression. I will probably do a dual layer backup and a single layer using the exceptional DVD Rebuilder.

IHoe, i pretty sure the movie is 3 plus hours long thats why i was asking and word is Sony dumped there ARocOS protection (not cost effective) lol ,so its going to be a high compression movie getting it to a DVD-5

well...... DVD-RB did all the LORD OF THE RINGS movies just fine and I also did BEN HUR and others that are long running movies!!! I don't think that it will matter too much with King Kong.

I just did as a test Lord of the Rings - Return of The King which is 200 minutes (3hrs,20min) long and the compression was 41 (CloneDvd2)Ughhhh!

So definately Split over 2 discs or use a DL.

How do you split over 2 disk? Cuz on Shrink the lowest I can get it is 51.2%. It doesn't start getting bad really untill 48 percent, but I don't want no problems...problems.

@Argg

You can split in Shrink using Start and End frames. Just remember where you ended so you can start the second disk at the same spot.

i did king kong last week. nothing to it, fabdecrypter/recode2/copytodvd, no problem. no special protection in it. i did both, main movie only and entire disc.
see you.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

Plays better "Movie Only" though I did both with and without extras menu only (Full Screen) with no trouble (AnyDVD & Nero recode2).
