I am entirely new to ripping dvds, but have ripped about 10 in the last week. I've been playing with quality settings and getting some satisfactory results as I learn, but I can't seem to figure out how to make some of the motion smoother. A lot of the motion looks very rough or digitized, is there any easy way to fix this with gordian knot?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Best advice I can provide without being at my home pc is to check http://www.autogk.me.uk/. You can try ctrl + F9 for hidden options using autogk and you will access hidden features to enhance picture quality.

to burn or not to burn that is the question

Figured it out. I read somewhere else that this is called interlacing. I can't claim to understand much about it, but selecting a deinterlacing option (kernel deinterlacing in my case) solved the problem. Added about 2% to my filesize with the same bitrate, but well worth it.
