Trying to back up my game disk. It works fine but then every now and then it shows an error reading disk then game continues. Any reommendations?

What dvd's are you using to burn gta?

TDK 8X DVD-R. I also have the DVD+R. Trying to read with DVD Decrypter and burn with Alcohol. Hope this combo works.

also make sure that you burn it at 4X
make sure all things that could be running in the backround are shut down and that you do not use the PC at all during burning.

It sounds like you just got a slightly bad burn. Does it do anything funny during gameplay like when driving real fast the road ahead will turn all blue so you can only see a few feet ahead? this would be a sign of a bad burn as well. TDK should work, but you may even need better media than that for games like GTA

Well I think I found my problem. The orginal game disk had some small scratches. Not enough to error the PS2 when the orginal is in. But good enough to pick up during the image process. I repaired scratches and recopied and it worked fine for hours.
