i can't burn some of the movies on my HD as they're to big for Nero to handle I suppose. I don't think I should have to use a DVD9 disc to record onto but still this problem is a drag. I do have Shrink and Decrypter and have used them both but still this problem presists. I have tried the overwrite feature but nothing happens also when I do manage to burn a DVD it takes about 2 hours...I think that is to long IMO so if any person with a vast knowledge would like to take my messenger to give me a hand I will comensate

Habsfan - here is a good guide to start with. For your problem with the size, please pay special attention to numbers 18-20.

For your burn times, yes something is wrong. It doesn't sound like your computer is in DMA mode. See this guide for checking/changing:

http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/checking%20DMA.pdf

Also, make sure your firmware for you burner is up to date and that you only use quality media. You can still get top of the line media for $14.99 a 50 pack.

Post back and let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you very much for your help but the problem is...not decrypting dvd's or shrinking them , I have AVI movies that aparently need to be shrunk and DVD Shrink will not find the file. Also I have managed to make MDS files but when I burn it ...it doesn't play on my DVD player

DVD Shrink dosent suport AVI files. It does VOB/IFO files. Most Standalone DVD players will not play AVI files either unless it has a decoder to play them. Some do but most dont. So if your DVD stand alone dosent suport AVI files then it wont play them.

You then would have to use a program that will convert the AVI file to DVD Format (VOB/IFO). Nero Vision Express does this and there are some other programs out there do it it as well.
