Nero 7 Install Problems

I cannot get Nero 7 to install. It tells me there is a newer version already on my computer (which there isn't); I've unistalled Nero 6 used Nero remove tool, the whole 9 yards and no luck. Then I try to install the demo version thinking I'll enter my serial number off the disc, but I get a message saying the serial number is incorrect and its the demo number that is getting the error! Then I try to enter my serial number and no luck. WTF!! Any ideas? I've looked all over the net and I can't find out what the hell to do...

Try the Nero 7 clean tool and then reinstall...

I tried that clean tool from Nero and I got a message saying, I can't remember exactly, but it was to the effect it would possibly harm my system too run it and it shut itself down. I then found a clean tool on this site (link below) and for some reason this clean tool worked. They both look like the same tool, I can't figure out why one worked and the other didn't. Anyway after running this tool I was able to install Nero 7, but after all this and reading other problems people have had I wonder if thats a good thing...

Congrats, Nero is a big complicated program that requires a very stable envirnment to run in...if it works it is awesome, if it doesn't work, it'll leave you pulling your hair out.
