Don't Know if chicken little had anything to do with this but ever since i tried to use anydvd and recode to back up the movie i get this message every time i try to use recode now>

Nero recode 2 encountered an error and cannot continue
an unknown error occured while checking validity of dvd structure (vts)
not enough storage is available to process this command.

I have never had any problems before and have recoded many movies. Does anyone know what is wrong here.

How much free space do you have on your Hard Drive?

I have 2 hard drives a 120 and a 250 both are sata. 90 gigs available on c drive and 150 on the other drive.
i have 1024mb ram
3.2 pentium ht
nec 2510a
benq 1655

Rip to HDD first using DVD Decrypter in file mode, then run the resulting folder through VobBlanker and you should be ready for recode.

I was able to back up the movie by using AnyDVD and shrink to hard drive then burn with Nero express. b But what i want to know is what happed to my recode? It has always worked before but now it won't work on any thing.

AnyDVD and Recode will not always work for some movies - movies w/ the Ripguard and ARccOS protection gives it a fit. Either lock up or give you an error. Any time I see a movie has one of these on it which Chicken Little has Ripguard, invalid file structure, bad sectors etc. I just use CloneDVD or Shrink instead. Shrink will handle these movies with AnyDVD but Recode usually won't.

I just tried backing up flightplan with jodie foster and recode still does not work. I uninstalled both AnyDVD and Nero and run clean tools. then reinstalled AnyDVD and an earlyier Nero 6.6.0.18
still wont work.

Flightplan is another one w/ Ripguard or ARccOS on it (can't remember which one). You can do this one w/ Shrink and AnyDVD - this one will also flop in Recode.
In AnyDVD set this so you can see what protection it has on it. I like to see what I'm dealing with 1st then decide what program use (usually CloneDVD though).
Go to settings>program tab - check 'show information window on new media'

Ok Thanks alot for the help. I am able to back them up with AnyDVD and shrink, I just thought maybe there was something wrong with Nero recode because i have backed up over 300 dvd's with recode and AnyDVD and this is the first time it screwed up>

Nothing wrong w/ Recode - just some of the newer movies it can't do even w/ AnyDVD because of the copy protection. I like it too but it's one of the reason I bought CloneDVD also.
If you set that opinion in AnyDVD you'll get a pop up window giving you all the info - the copy protection and all. Then just close the window and pick which program you want to use.

Oh heck no! But with AnyDVD your pretty much good to go. Now since you have that set - if it's show Ripguard or ARccOS just skip Recode. Unless AnyDVD comes out with another up date to fix this w/ Recode. Check the version history when you update for this.

Binkie7 is right on target. Recode sometimes has problem with certain DRMs. It'll work 90% but sometimes it just freezes for me. Capote and flightplan are good examples. Don't give up on recode.
