I am wanting to build a new PC. I currently have an AMD 1800 and would like to upgrade to an AMD 64 4000 939 (San Diego) chip. I would also like a mother board that will allow me to setup 4 hard drives. I was looking at the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard.

Is there any other motherboards that support faster memory? This board uses PC3200 memory

Any suggestions on what to build?

ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe, AMD 4200 X2, ATI All-In Wonder X1900, Corsair 2GB PC6400, Seagate 80 gig SATA, Maxtor 200 gig SATA, WD 200 gig PATA.

DDR400 is extremely common. It's easy to find DDR2 memory, but a much more difficult task to find supporting MOBO's.

The Abit K8N Ultra Socket 939 @ http://www.directron.com/kn8u991145.html
Quote:
Abit KN8 Ultra is NVIDIA NF4 Ultra based AMD Athlon 64/64FX Main board. AMD KN8 Ultra Socket 939 supports up to 2GHz front bus speed. Four 240-pin DIMM sockets, capacity up to 4GB Dual channel DDR2 667/533. PCI-Express, NV SATA 3G Raid, NV GbE, NV Firewall, IEEE 1394, ABIT Q-OTES, µGuru, AudioMAX 7.1 Audio Technology.
But later on, that same page says
Quote:
Support 4 DIMM Dual DDR 400/333/266 non-ECC memory
I also checked it out on a different page and it didn't say anything about ddr2....
So I don't know... I'll keep looking.

*I found some pentium 4 boards... But P4's suck anyway.. Faster memory memory wouldn't be worth lowering your standards.
