I was wondering if there is a program that lets you shrink an AVI...Because obviously DVD shrink won't work

Hi,

Perhaps you could try http://www.filepedia.com/video_software/video_tools/avi_recomp.cfm. I tried it once and shrunk an AVI down about 200mb and the quality was the same as the original. If you have the time give it a shot.

Ok the program is on filepedia (affiliated with afterdawn)and it is called AVI recompiler. Sorry the link doesn't work.

tocool4u, you can always use VirtualDubMod to recompress (re-encode) the video to make it smaller by using fast recompress under video menu.

However, using the program AVI ReComp that matt72 suggested would probably be the easiest way to do it because it has a nice front end to it judging by the screen shot. Plus it takes out all the guess work and it uses VirtualDubMod anyways.

Doing a Google search found a hit where the actually program can be obtained. Follow the link below.
