dvd drive will not read / rip some dvd+r -Help please

I'm using a pioneer dvd reaer/writer. I use dvd decrypter to rip and burn. Dvd+r's cannot be read. Even dvd+r's which I have just burned with dvd decrypter onto a dvd+r, cannot be read, even though they play on stand alone home dvd machines. So I can burn a dvd, play it on a dvd machine, but not on the dvd drive it was burned with. A message comes up saying "unable to open toc". If I use dvd shrink, a messgae comes saying "volume for a file altered so cannot be opened". The dvd drive itself shows as though there is no dvd disc present. It says insert disc.
Help!!!please.

Thanks philraz, I have been to your page, but I can't see pioneer DVR-106RD. Should I use a different patch?

You can update to firmware version 1.08 if you need it, get it here:
http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pio/pe/images/portal/cit_3424/7...

You can also use this handy little utility to find out what your current version is, click on the link to get it then just run it.

Note: The download for the firmware update is from the pioneer website, if would like to check it out your self, here's the link.
