Ok ever since I have gotten my new burner, I cant burn dvds below 4x, I used to burn them at 1x. Well my games dont usally play good when they are burned at 4 and they run slow. The first time they was runnin bad I decided to clean my lens with a eartip and i helped it for a while. Well I just did it again and now it is not playing any of my recent backups. The thing is, I have been trying all my odd back ups burnth at 1x and they are working ok. So im thinkin, how can i fix this if I cant even burn at 1x anymore. Are there certain discs I should be lookin into? Maybe some that will allow 1x burning or some that is good for ps2 games.

it could be various causes that is causing this problem:

update firmware of your new burner so that you can burn at lower or higher speeds better.
tell us what media you are currently using for your recent backups
it's a good idea also to stick the the media that you PS2 likes the most.
if your PS2 is struggling to read media, then it is not your DVD burner or media and you need to replace you PS2 or get it fixed.

I will try the firmware update

The latest media I have used is Sony and Fujifilm

My station is pretty wore down but im not sure if that is the reason as my odd backups burned at 1x work good. At the same time I chould be something wrong with my station cause i doesnt play other kinds of media that good, like movies.

well you media seems good enough, if it was memorex, that would be another whole issue lol i have used fuji film myself and they are able to burn at 1x speed becasue that is the speed that i burn my games. i think it all points to you PS2 right now, get a DVD lense cleaner or something, and btw when you update your firmware make sure you install the right one.
