Am not too sure about hdl_dump or faplink but i know WinHiip is pretty fast it only takes anywhere between 3-5mins for a 3/4gb ISO it all really depends on if you have anything going on in the background and your hardware, i usually shut things like virus scan down which speeds the process up a bit. Overall it takes Min's its usually faster than burning the ISO to a DVD. Am going back a good bit here but if i remember correctly i transferred Xenosage 1 to my PC hdd in under 10mins (give or take a couple of Min's) which is not bad indeed for an 8gb ISO ^_^

I don't know if you know but winhiip is an application you can only use when your ps2 is connected to your PC via an IDE cable which might not be any use if you want to FTP.

aye aye man

I also use Winhiip and connect the PS2 HDD via a USB to IDE cable so I dont have to mess about inside my tower or disturb my second HDD. Data transfer takes about 4 minutes on average. The rate is about 15mbps I think.

You said you have used HDL-dump to transfer games to your PS2HDD.
Then you must have either connected your HDD to your pC via a spare IDE or via a network cable and the network adapter.

I take the PS2 HDD off the network adaptor, plug an IDE to USB conversion cable into it and stick the usb into my PC. Then HDL_Dump or Winhiip will recognise the PS2 HDD and you don't have to change the jumpers setrtings or anything. Game transfer takes about 3 - 4 mins. Then you stick the HDD back onto the network adaptor and into your PS2. (assuming its not a slim one)
P.S you will also need a power supply for your PS2 HDD when using the IDE to USB cable. (Google it if you want one)
