Rip a DVD movie to HD in original MPG Format

Hi
I'm trying something for a friend who produced a DVD. However in liew of huim sending me the master tape which I'd have to encode all over again, he asked me if I could use the DVD.

It's NOT copy protected or reigion encoded.

How can I get the movie off the DVD to my hard drive in one piece in it's original encoded MPG format? All I have to do is bring it into my DVD authoring software, chapter it and create a menu. They didn't put a menu on it and there's 4 different "shows" on it. Almost like a VHS tape! UGH!

Someone in another forum mentioned DVDDecrypter or VideoReDo? I'm not understanding those programs and I understand DVDDecrypter is discontinued?

Can anyone help?

if there are not encryptions on the DVD why not just pop that baby in the drive and drag and drop to a folder? that's the easiest method!! just copy it to the hard drive and let windows do it. then you can use your editing program and make your menus! right????? is it an MPG format already? then you can do this!
