combining movie on two discs on one disc

let´s say that i have a movie on two dvd discs and i would like to have it on one. how to join those two parts into one? is there any software or procedure in that situation? i understand that i will have to compress the movie but nevertheless i can´t stand two discs.
please help

Rip each movie to disk. Then have DVD Shrink ReAuthor mode opened. Choose the Vieo_TS folder of each movie. Select both "main movies" and Eliminate the extra sound tracts, directors cut, and anything else not needed. Let Shrink put it all together and compress to fit.
