Hello, Im new here and am new to the NERO/BURNING experience, I have recently downloaded movie files each movie has different extensions such as avi, cue etc and I am having problems converting them and burning them to DVD.
I tried burning the CUE file on NERO but it kept spitting my DVD out and saying I need a CD?

you find cue files with vcd or svcd , they are burnt onto cd-r usually, but there must be a bin file there aswell in the same folder as the cue, if you had alcohol 120% you can mount this bin file on virtual drive and copy the avi file onto your HDD and then burn the convert the avi to dvd , it should be ok after
if you dont want to convert you should simply get cd-r and burn the files to cd-r instead of trying to burn to dvd
hope this helps.

you can do 2 things here.
1: you can get some cd-r and burn to that
2: you can get alcolhol 120% , you can download a free trial. when installed load the bin file in what is called a virtual drive in alcohol. then in windows explorer you can see the virtual drive and you can navigate to the AVI or mpg file, you just drag the file to a folder of your choice , then when the file is moved , you can then convert the file to dvd using Nero, then burn to dvd.

it will take a couple of minutes to get the AVI or mpg from the bin file and then just convert the file to dvd using Nero. AVI ia a media format . like mpg is media format. is that what you wanted to know
lengh of time to convert file to dvd depends on your system specs. mine usually takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours per file.

if you want to convert the AVI or mpg to dvd then Nero will do them both, if you want to extract the mpg file from VCD or SVCD then i use alcohol and extract the mpg file, then convert with Nero.

Think what I need best is a guide for each type that I could download from the torrent sites. For example AVI, CUE etc and what to do with each one.
I have films downloaded just want them on DVD now so I can watch a separate DVD machine.
Sorry just confusing when new to the scene, I have Nero and 4mb broadband so I have the equipment maybe not the technical brain for the burning part!
