For the best quality mp3s use EAC (exact audio copy) to rip your audio CDs and LAME to encode them. Follow this guide:

Don't worry guys, I've got a nice dual-core Opteron rig for you that will put that Dell to shame :^)
Hey Dell bought AlienWare, did they not?
I just can't think of any reason whatsoever to not build my own rig myself... but others must trust Mr. Dell to select good components for them - nothing wrong with that (if you are not knowledgeable).
