Hi, I ran into a problem while trying to backup GT4. First off I downloaded all the software needed to do the job, and printed a copy of paddymail's guide to go by.
Ok, Started doing everything by the guide and everything was matching up perfect until i got to step 4 (pss downsampling). I opened the pss downsampling tool, changed the downsample rate to 55% like it said, and then went to the pss files that were in the extracted folder, clicked on the first file which was 20r60r.pss then hit (CTRL + A) then draged the files into the pss downsampling tool window, then clicked go. Ok now the problem, the program started then it kept giving me an error message which said. At the top left hand corner of the error screen it said pss Plex, and the error said Component 'ACTIVESKIN.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly regestered: a file is missing or invalid. Then i stoped the program and read the readme file and it said to put the ACTIVESKIN.OCX file in the windows/system 32 folder if needed. So i moved the ACTIVESKIN.OCX file to the windows/system 32 folder. I then deleted everything and started all over. Everything worked fine until I got back to the pss downsampling part again, but this time it actully started doing a little more, then it started giving me another error message which said, in the top left hand corner of the error screen it said Run-time Error '339':, and the error message was, Component 'MSCOMCT2.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid, so just to try it out i just kept clicking the ok button until it finnished. Then went on to the next step and rebuilt, then patched, then did the cd/dvd gen and draged the files in the orded, and then put in all the information on the volume screen, then clicked file, then export IML. The two IML files showed up but one of them the file size was 17KB instead of 10, and the other one looked the same. Next i did the Gnie's IML2ISO just like it said and created an iso of the game. Then i checked the size of the finnished iso and the size was only 2.51GB, and not 3.88GB like it should be. I am pretty sure that the pss downsampling process errors had everything to do with it. Can anybody please help me out with this one? If you have had this problem and what did you do to fix it, or if you have any suggestions as to what i can try. I have already tried to re-download the pss downsampling tool, but I get the same error message. Sorry about the long post but just wanted to make sure i got everything in. Thanks in advance for your help, tak_em_ez
