Hey guys, I use Dvd decrypter to back up my dvd's. The only thing is that it takes forver to do it. About 3.4x read speed. I was wondering if there was a way to increase the read speed?
Another thing. My burner is locked to only writing dvd+r, I was wondering if I could be able to burn both +,- and add the dual layer burn feature?whilst increasing the read speed of course?.
Thanks

That's a good burner You have, there. You should be able to patch the firmware with that burner and get it to do 'bout anything! I'm just yankin' your chain, man, hey what's the model??

Here ya go. I had the same burner off one of my Dells and yeah, sucks to only be able to burn on +Rs. Flashed it with a modified firmware now my drive's a NEC ND2500A =) Riplock removed, and dual-layer burning capabilities with increased writing speeds. Here's the link to the flasher. The only thing it can't do is burn on a RW =(

Note: You use this firmware flasher at your own risk. Though others may have had success in using it, it may not work properly and could render your drive unusable.

Thanks for the tips. I updated the firmware through cdfreaks.com, they supplied a gui flash and it was easy to do. My 2100 ad is now a 2510a and us caoable of burning dl discs too, in addtion to -r. Thanks though. I appreciate it. BTw, the link was not working. I tried it on many different computers. Thanks
