hello all!

i have a movie i did on iMovie burnt on to a disc and i am wanting to put it on my website in quicktime format.
however, i no longer have any of the original media information.
am i screwed?

someone told me i have to have the movie "ripped"
is this correct?
can someone pls tell me what that is and where i can get it done?
are there people out there are doing this that i could pay to do it for me?

heres what you can do,

Im guessing your on a mac, because your using iMovie. So you would need the software Mactheripper, but because your dvd is not encrypted you can simply copy the folder labled VIDEO_TS to another folder on your Harddrive. Now you need some conversion software, FFMPEGX sould work, so install that, open the dvd VIDEO_TS and choose what format you want, and there you go.

However if your on a pc there is a little different way of going about it...

mactheripper is free and so is FFMPEGX

that's great thanks!
i did both steps you told me to, mactheripper successfully completed it's part but when i pull up the ffmpegx program it wont let me move forward and has prompted a window called:

compnents self-installer and lists three (i dont even know what you'd call them) required downloads in red? with the option to "locate" so when i press "locate" it prompts an apple window of my hardrive for me to select or locate these on my computer, which i obviously do not have.

they are:
mpeg2enc
mencoder
mplayer
so when i copy the URL and try to download i get a deadend screen

what's up?
