hey all, i'm currently in the process of backing up a ps1 game called REAL BOUT: GAROU DENSETSU DOMINATED MIND.

and i wanna know if its possible (since its a cd game) to rip it onto a dvd-r?

if not...whats the suggested/reccomended program that i use to back-up a ps1 game?

It's not possible to back it up to a DVD and play it.

I never used it but I believe you need Alcohol 120

You can't back up a PS1 game to a dvd-r/+r but you can to a Cd-r using Alcohol 120%

What Mod are you using in order to play the backup?
Modchip? or Gameshark / other cheat device swap trick?

Well, it is possible. You can put multiple PS1 games on a DVD+R. I dont believe its possibe to do it with one PS1 game. Try using DVD scanlite created by Sonix i think that removes DVD checks on a game but I'm not 100% sure. try searching 'PS1 game on DVD' on the search bar. ^ up there.

read that. You can put multiple CD games on a DVD but the success rate is not great and it is a lot more effort than it would take just to put it on a CD-R

It is not possible to put PSX games onto a DVD and play them on a PS2. It is possible as Steimy pointed out it is possible to put PS2 CDs onto DVD and play them, but it is not possible to do so with PSX games.
