I recently purchased swap magic coder v. 3.8. I have tried to make several diffrent backups with several diffrent methods and all have failed. I have a lite-on burner and verbatim dvd-r discs.I also tried booktyping with +r discs. At first I would just burn the iso. Then, I tried rebuilding the iso with gnie's program. That didnt work either. Then i tried rebuilding using the tutorial on the sticky threads here by using iso buster, cd/dvd gen, and iml2iso. That as well didn't work. All of these burns were at 4x I have tried everything I can find or think of. The games i tried to burn were Need for Speed Most Wanted, the Godfather, and Fight Night Round 3. The swap magic disc boots fine on my ps2 although it takes the ps2 a while to read it, but when it says booting game it just takes me back to the ps2 browser. Does anyone know of any solutions?

Have you tried cleaning or adjusting your laser to see if that helps?

How would i do this and is it nesscessary? I think it could be a problem with the laser but im not sure. It sounds like a good idea though, but there could be something else.

I have an MX4v1.1 and sometimes when I put my disk in it goes back to the browser, sometimes i waste a few disks, i even write a tutorial on how i do it here - Follow this really good method on this tutorial. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/325508
Or you could try this:
If your media isn't in the good media thread which is stickied get some DVD's that is in the first or second class, I use Ritek.
If this doesnt work:
Go into ISOBUSTER open your PS2 game ISO image. Select all, right click>extract objects to a file youll remember. Minimise ISOBUSTER, open Nero startsmart and select DVD in the dropdown box where you select your media. Select the data tab, then Make UDF/ISO disk. go back to isobuster and look at the order your files are in, add in Nero burning ROM in the same order and burn at 2.4X.
If this doesnt work your swap magic is either not in good condition or like jamaal10 said, your lens is abit dirty or needs replacing.

I callibrated the laser, and its reading my burnt games. The problems is that swap magic wont load right away. It takes me to the browser than lets my play the disc. There is also serious lag in both my rebuilt and normal backup games. Regular games are fine. Do I have to keep callibrating till this gets fixed?
