problem with burning AVI w/nero

When I goto burn a DVD I get a msg saying there is more PAL than NVCD, and if I want to use PAL or NVCD.
Either one I choose, it will burn for about 3 secs then just goto the start up screen. no error msg or anything.
Is there any way to remedy this?
I am a noob at burning.

Daxton,

If you want to burn .AVI to dvd discs and be able to watch them on your dvd player, you must convert the .AVI file first by using Nero express vision. Before you convert the AVI file, you will get that same message. I usually just click No.

I did the same thing.
it transcodes for a few seconds then just disapears.
no error or warning or anything. just gone.

What version of Nero do you have? Also, please post the nero log file.

Your Nero log gives information on your burn, it can be found here, only the last one is needed

I found a program that works GREAT!!!
Its called "convertxtoDVD"
You add any file, hit convert,
when its done a "burn" button comes up,
you hit BURN and a few minutes later,
you got a dvd ready to go. it makes chapters automatically
and was dirt cheap.

Yes I agree with you, it is a very good program, I also own it.

For your information, heres where your error occurred in the failed burn

Apparently you had the wrong type of disc inserted to burn to.
