Need some help on burned games

well im completely new to this and know VERY LITTLE about burning ps2 games and i jsut burnt my first game. When i downloaded it it was a .rar archive with many differnet types of files and worked like a .rar file, but when i opened it on alcohol 120% it said it was a standard ISO file so i thoguht it was ok and burned it. after burning it, it worked but it constantly skips and the screen just shakes around so i dont know what i did wrong, did i do something wrong while burning? or how do i find out if it wasnt my file that is causing the problems? thanks guys

Just like the link that was posted,
Use good media and burn at no more than 4x,
Or 1/2 the maximum speed of the disc.
Also DVD decrypter does a great job of burning ps2 games.

thanks guys i neeed to go get some new dvd's but i have a question, when i try to burn at a differnet speed it does not let me go any lower than 4x on Alcohol 120% and on Nero 6 it doesnt let me change it at all, so dont know whats happening there. also i just want to make sure if my game is skipping and screen is shaking , does that mean my file is alright and that i extracted it right or could there still be a problem with the file i downloaded?

hmmmmm...is your screen black and white and shaking if so then you'll have to convert to PAL or NTSC corresponding to your region

As for burning.. download - ImgBurn - http://download.imgburn.com/SetupImgBurn_1.2.0.0.exe
It's a highly reliable program which enables you to burn at near enough any speed (including 1x, 2x 4x, etc.)

well it's not necessarily black and white, but i can still see the game and its working fine, except its shaking really fast and u can see like 4 of the same images on the selection screen for language when u start it. also i think after i picked language it gives me the otpion to pick either NTSC or PAL so i dont knwo aobut the region changing thing. for the link to the burner, thanks i'll try that when i get more disks so if any1 else got anymore suggestions that woudl be appreciated =D

i don't think its just one program...its like a series of them but i don't know wat they r your going to have to search 4 it sorry

To change the region, only one application is needed. If you need it PM me. As my guide stated, cheap media will not play as well. Buy some better media such as Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.

ok i'll try one more time tommorrow when i get some verbatim dvd's perhaps, if it doesnt work then i guess it must be the region thing and i'll pm ya for it thanks guys =)

No problem. Chances are it will not skip just because of the region, so the discs will probably solve the problem, but may not solve the screen error. But report back your results anyway and we'll keep going until we can get your problem sorted.

ok guys i've tried some new dvd's and same thing happens, im still burning at 4.0x tho because the img burner link didnt work :S do i dont know if its something wrong with the region thing or not. also one of my questions never got answered, which was could it have been my file that is screwed up? because my game can be opened in WinRAR with all these files but not the 001 types and has the WinRAR icon , but when i open it on Alcohol 120% it says its a standard ISO image. the game is basically working , but it continuously shakes up and down so i dont know if its the file? maybe. also it asks me to pick a language , and then it says pick either NTSC (50hz) or PAL (60hz) <--- the (xxhz) not sure if i can make out what it says it shakes really fast, but basically which oen should i pick? if it were to work.

Thought you said skipping not shaking? Well, anyway, if it is shaking, then chances are it's the region. Try converting, or try a different mode.

hmm then i guess i should pm ya for the program for that? i dont know how the region thing works and does that have anything to do with the menu that says ''choose video settings'' PAL or NTSC? im really confused atm :S

Well, try PAL then try NTSC and see which one is best for your TV.

It's against the rules to direct link to torrent files, just as well you couldn't ;)
Anyway, all I needed was the tracker name. Ok, it is public, that means anyone can upload to it, this may be why, sounds like someone has tried to region patch it and it has gone wrong.. nothing much you can do I'm afraid, part from re-downloading somewhere else...or just buy it :)
