I just fixed up my brothers craptacular P3 which only has 1 stick of Pc133 128mb ram and 501mhz CPU... The motherboard is Abit BE6-II and has SoftMenu for overclocking, setting CPU and Multiplier speeds... The list went all the way up to over 1GHZ at 133fsb but it had a setting listed at 1.1GHZ at 100fsb where the multiplier was 11.

Now... I decided to run it at that setting LMAO. My voltages and Temps are WAY in the realm of normal... in fact they are VERY similar, if different at all, to when it was running 633 at 133fsb. How badly should this mess up the processor I wonder...

It's just really dumb and I thought I would share it with you all.

If there is any serious usage of the CPU (ie Gaming, Video transcoding or anything else that will tax it) you'll see the temperatures skyrocket. Overclocking is not recommended for extended periods of time. Higher temps will shorten the life of the CPU and RAM.

I only ran it for a bit for a joke really... didn't really think it would work... but I got it working at 700mhz with 100fsb and its staying well into limits. CPU didn't even go over 46C when gaming. I just thought it was funny when I was able to make the processor DOUBLE in speed and it didn't even show instability during normal use heh.
