Hope that someone can help me out here. I downloaded the trial copy of ANYDVD because so many people rave about it. I only have 11 days left and would purchase it...but, it doesn't appear to work.

I keep getting I/O errors when it attempts to read a DVD--and ANYDVD asks me if it should continue. I don't know if these are important errors...or minor ones. I have always canceled and tried one of my other programs.

My old out-of-date copies of DVD Decryptor, Shrink, X Copy Platinum usually manage to read the same disk without a problem. So, I'm mystified.

Have you tried AnyDVD's ripper to rip the hard drive? Sounds like a "damaged" disc to me....

Don't think it is a damaged disk. Mainly--cause I can use the same 'original' DVD and decrypt it using one of the other programs on my hard drive. I always rip to my hard drive. I never burn DVD's directly.

No--I'm not using CloneDVD2. Mainly because I have been unable to decrypt the original DVD, compress it, etc. I've been using Shrink DVD to compress and then Nero to burn. Once again--all those old programs are working without 'error' messages.

Whoops...I thought CloneDVD was a compression program. But, it appears to more than that. Can anyone tell me what the difference is between CloneDVD and AnyDVD?

I run both purchased copies and they work really well together and apart but i have ran into problems if your trying to copy a burnt disk rather than the original

All these movies! and not a single use for any of them!

You need neither of these programs, necessarily, to copy an already copied DVD. Just use your favorite DVD burning program...

Thanx to all for info on AnyDVD, CloneDVD, manuals, etc. Will check them out today. Downloaded the update to AnyDVD yesterday. Appears to be working OK--no read errors yet.

Problem could have been an 'iffy' download or installation. Will probably download tryout of CloneDVD and see how the two work together.

One last question? One of my AnyDVD folders (old download) is missing the VIDEO_TS.VOB file. Can anyone tell me why that didn't copy?
