hello,

as of a week ago, when i click on SOME downloaded avi files on my computer, i get the error message " Xvid Core DLL Not Found" and then my computer freezes. i even formatted my computer alltogether and i still have the same problem. i've never had this problem before.

Does anyone know what's going on ?

what does " Xvid Core DLL Not Found" means?

i download a lot of video files from the internet and this has started happening to about 80% of the files i'm downloading as of last week.

pLEASE hELP.....

xvidcore.dll is XviD's core library. It has VfW and directshow front ends which use it. Re-installing XviD should solve the problem. No need for an entire codec pack.

thank you for your help guys.
however i did not one but both of the things you recommended but unfortunatly none of them worked.

i uninstalled the DivX create bundle 6.1 that i had i on my computer and now the problem has gone away. unfortunalely, now i can no longer encode my video files anymore.
the freezing does not occur anymore but no more video conversion. i guess it's tradeoff.

the "xvid dll" also was clashing with windows explorer.

but now that i have uninstalled DivX create bundle, the problem seems to have gone away. this is really weird. i've never had that problem before.
