I have a NEC 3500A with I believe the latest firmaware. I have no problem burning single layer disks or the dual layer Verbatims. But when ever I watch one of the movies I burned on the dual layer Verbatim disks it will always freeze at some point durig the movie. I cannot forward the movie or go back wards , I can only stop it. I can however start the movie over and then skip the chapter that was causing issues and watch the rest of the movie. Not sure why this is happening. I am using DVDFAB Decrypter and DVDShrink with Nero 6 Ultra. Any ideas?? Help is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!

Nero can't handle the layer break properly in 6.x, don't believe it can in 7.x either. you should try imgburn (free) from www.imgburn.com, or DVD Decrypter to burn dual layers
I only burn at 4x, I only bump it up on sigle layer disks. Not sure exactly how to burn it with DVD Dycrypter, I have only ever ripped to my hard drive with it. I have always used DVDShrink, which uses Nero. So I am guessing this is the issue as you guys have mentioned. Man I have made too many coasters from this issue! DVD Dectrpter it looking for one file to burn, I am looking at a ton of VTS files? I am guessing you rip the movie as a ISO? I have it on File. Anyway, I think I'll look at imageburn as I know DVD Decrypter cannot do some of the newer movies with the copy protection thats why I have been using DVDFAB Decrypter. Follow this guide ... I burn DL discs this way (usually substituting ImgBurn for the burning) .. No coasters or freezing in hundreds of DL backups ...

Thanks for all the help. I went in and read a little on DVDShrink and DVD Decrypter. I am ripping to my hard drive with DVDFab and then converting to ISO using DVDShrink which gives me the option to burn using DVD Decrypter. Made a backup of Narnia and was able to watch it flawlessly all the way through unlike before. AMazing what you can learn if you read! :)
