Some off my mates backed up their own DVD's to just normal CD's. I own the family guy film but its strating to get strached so i want to back it up. I dont have a DVD writer so how do you split the DVD into sections that will fit on a CD at a ok qualitiy (it doesnt have to be DVD quaility)

You can split the DVD into one or several video files using DVD Ripping software, then burn to CD with Nero.

The program can split DVDs to DivX, AVI, VCD fitting on one or several CDs. Before ripping, set output format to what you like, and set "split" to "650MB Recordable CD".

You may take a look at this guide http://www.aoamedia.com/dvd-ripper-output-size.htm . If you want to make the output size fit in a 80-min CD, just select "700MB CD-R" and then set the duration as 1 hour 20 mins on the Step4.
