just bought this drive and its supposed to burn all media including dual layer,i can only get it to work with dvd+r.
dvd dl+/-r doesnt work neither does dvd-r i know the problem is disc finalizing it does'nt seem to close the disc.anyone else had this problem with a lite on drive.
programs used:- dvd decrypter/instant copy/nero
firmware:-ysow

Try the latest firmware.
I have Liteon - a few models behind of yours - Ritek was decent but some of the id's were pretty hit or miss for me G04 & GO5 esp. Swtiched to Taiyo and Verbatim and haven't looked back.

thanks for reply but i am told firmware updates only give better reading capabilities,and the link does'nt work it comes up server down

Link should be working now just checked. Firmware helps with both the read and write strategies. Usually if your check the manufacturers site it will state something like 'improve write strategy' & sometimes will even list the media codes it's updating. Plus it can sometimes unlock features of your drive.

I kept trying to access the site's link for the downloads but all it did was open the same page. Is this happening to you?

If so, remove the standard pop up blocker. After that, you can begin the download.

BTW, I also have this drive. I didn't need to download any firmware for it to acknowledge DL media. It's a great drive.
