Burner recognizes burned disks but not originals

I just started having this issue about 1 month ago and I don't know the cause.

I never had a problem with my burner (Emprex DVDRW 1016IM) taking a bought DVD, recongizing and playing it or any of my programs from recognizing it and backing it up.

But now, the only disks the drive will recongize are disks which I've already burned. They play just fine. But it won't recongize the original disks.

I've updated the firmware. Anyone else have some advice what it could be?

Try a lens cleaner. Not sure if it will work, but worth a shot!

Hmmm. I'll try that. It just seems like something more then that since it'll read the burned DVD's perfectly fine but not "Orignials".

But I'll try it and see.
