i transcode with no problems and burn with no problems and i set to the second to lowest burning speed... but when playing on the dvd player it will skip while playing and i have all other applications closed while its burning. and usually always set it to highest priority. A FEW TIMES it has worked without skipping any but most the time it skips or either will freeze and go back to the main screen.

Poor quality media,too fast of a burn speed and high percentage of compression all contribuite to this effect....

Yep, I agree with the above replies. A good rule of thumb is to always burn with "high quality" (i.e. Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim "Advanced Azo or DataLife Plus" and Hitachi Maxell "Made In Japan") with 4X - 8X, plus the latest firmware on burner is a "must".

Sometimes burning too slow or too high/fast can trigger various errors (i.e. skipping, freezing/pausing, etc.)
