All of my burnt ESPN games jumps/or flips on screen. Has anyone experienced this before? I've tried using Nero, Alcohol 120%, nothing seems to work. BTW, I'm now using memorex DVD+RW just so when it's a bad burn, I can re-use the DVD+RW again.

Hi your problem lies with the bad selection of media you are using if you are doing backups for any console I would highly suggest you use either official Taiyo Yuden or Verbatims also if your burner has booktyping capabilities for plus format then get DVD+R but if your burner can't booktype then go with DVD-R.

A little tip never use media graded higher than 8x or is RW as these are known to cause backup issues and if you havn't updated your firmware for awhile I highly reccommend you do this too.

I agree 100%
Memosux are the absolute worst discs.
And the RW version of discs never seem to work well at all for games.
And i never suggest you buy anything higher than an 8X,
and burning them at 4X should work out great
Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek G04, Maxcell (made in Japan only!)
Sony (also made in Japan Only)
sometimes even TDK
those are about your best choices for media.

could it be you have games from the wrong region (playing PAL games on NTSC machine or visaversa)?

NTSC DNAS threads.

I live in England and own a PAL region PS2 and XBOX but only download NTSC games and not one skips for me however it could be different for NTSC machines playing PAL region games.

thanks for your help guys. The RW i'm using is both +/-
sometimes I can get a successful backup(doenst not flicker/flip) so i was thinking it couldn't have been the DVD RW i was using, and I burn it at a snail speed of 2.4x LOL!!!

And I've backed up both types PAL/NTSC. Both have flickered before.

No, trust me on this one it definately is a case of the media you are using, also 2.4x is too slow for 8x or 16x media.

If you are using 4x media then that burn speed is fine however I'd strongly suggest changing to +/-R format and not using Grade D media brands such as Memorex.
