Check to make sure your drives are in DMA mode. If they are in PIO mode they would take longer to burn.

For Windows XP you do the below.....

Click on Start/Control Panel/System/Hardeware Tab/Device Manager/

Now another window will come up with all your hardware in a list. To check and see if your drives are in DMA mode go down the list till you see IDE Controlers once you find it click on it and it will branch out below.

Now check each IDE Channel and make sure none of them are in PIO mode. If you see 1 that is in PIO mode then try to switch it to DMA mode.

In some casses it wont let you switch back into DMA mode. If this is the case then all you have to do is go to the IDE controler that is in PIO mode and right click your mouse and choose to uninstall it.

Once it is uninstalled restart your computer and windows will reinstall it and it should be back into DMA mode.

So ceck and see if it has droped into PIO mode if there all in DMA mode then reply back and we will try to figure out if its somthing else.

What are you using to emcode/transcode?

What times are you getting on the compression procceses?

As of making a copy of a copy you have the steps of reading then burning. So of course it will be a longer proccsses when you make a copy of the DVD.

What speeds are you getting now with just burning an image to disc?

nothing has changed its still takes forever the one thing was different but made no difference so far as for emode or trans code i guess trans code i dont know on shrink it takes like three minutes just to open the disc used to take like thirty seconds then to encode it takes almost a half an hour each time then another five or so to burn
