I wanted a Intel based pc but I found AMD to be much cheaper and it came with more extras. Is there anything I need or anything that isn't compatible with this.

I would reall appreciate it. I am going to use the 36 raptor to load OS, The 150 raptor for gaming and other hardcore programs, and the 320gb for general storage. Will they be compatible with the 3.0gb sata? Any other thoughts or things I might need? MY budget is 2900 with tax and everything.

And the raptors would be "compatible" with sata2, but they will not run at sata2. They are SATA(1) drives.

byron02, is certainly right, you're building a beast! I also agree with him about SLi. The cost to performance issue is suspect at best. If you still want to go with Sli I recommend shooting over to FiringSquad.com and look at the their comparison of Sli and Crossfire with high-end video cards. They use the RPG game Oblivion as their test because this game is a hardware hog. Very, very imformative and eye opening.
I would also HIGHLY consider at least a 550watt PSU. Antec makes good power supplies. 90% of the time when you see a great deal on a case with a psu you can bet the psu is poor. Antec seems to be the exception. Still, you're beast of a build will demand, IMO, more power.

Yes, that is a good power supply. Enermax and Fortran also make very good power supplies. As for video card you could look at the 7900gt. The thing is they are so popular that they are to keep in stock.
Will you be eventually using a Sli set-up? because if you are not I wouldn't spend the extra money on the board.

I think I am going to stick with a single video card though. The 7900gt is a good card and a lot less expensive than the 7900gtx.Any suggestions for a different board?I just want a board with single SLi compatubility, if that's possible. I am going to keep the sli certifeid power supply to make it easier to connect the video card.

That power supply will work on both Sli and non-Sli. So will Enermax and Fortran. The thing is your system will demand power and that is why I wouldn't have anything under 500 watts and more preferably 550watts.
There is no such thing as single SLi boards per se. SLi was designed for 2 video cards though there are those that do run it with one card. But I believe byron02 would agree that there is no need for you to spend the money on s SLi board if you are going with a single card. And as he said, you'll probably be disappointed.
ASUS makes a number of very good non-SLi boards for AMD processors. They are known for reliability and stability.
Another company that makes very good boards is EPoX. The one I have in mind particulary is the EPoX 9NPA+Ultra which is rock stable at stock settings and a good overclocker too.
If you want to know more about ASUS or EPoX I strongly suggest going over to the forums in AnandTech.com. It is packed full of information on all kinds of pc components. Just go to the motherboard forums and read. You'll see extensive information on all kinds of boards. The EPoX I mentioned has a huge thread as well as a number of the ASUS boards. By the way, AnandTech gave the EPoX board I mentioned their Editor's Choice Gold Medallion Award.
Keep in mind, that the majority of reasons people post on forums of this kind is prdominately for two reasons. 1) To ask for help because of some issue so don't get scared off when you see such and such board or such and such video card having problems. That's what thses forums are for. And 2) to look for advice/information.
By the way, good job on your research. You obviously did your homework. And way to go with 2 gigs of RAM. I thinik your new rig will do well.

Oh and I saw under that 7900gtx a review said best card out there. I'm sorry to say but they were plain wrong.

Best single card out there. Right now that is... Next week nVidia might come out with one, one step ahead, but that's competition.
Yeah, I do agree. No need for an SLI board if you aren't gonna use it. It's just a waste of an open PCI port. I filled up my PCI's on my last build, I had 2 NIC's, IEEE1392, USB2.0, and a sound card. FULL. Besides the fact that SLI wasn't around when I built it, if I'd had gone SLI, I wouldn't have had enough room.
And the ASUS A8N-E is a great board. I would know. It's got 4xSATA2, great utilities, everything I wanted, and nothing I didn't(SLI).

Alright thanks to all of you. I think I am going to stick with the 7900gt. I found it on tigerdirect.com so I think I might get it there. I looked into the Epox board and I saw a lot of potential from it. I also found a ASUS board. Thanks again for all the help. I hope I can build it soon.
btw, the x1900 is a HEll of a good card. Too much for me though.
