I have an M-Audio Revolution 5.1 sound card. Right now I am researching on speakers but I am not sure what to get because I must confess I am 100% ignorant of what is a decent quality build/manufacture.
I would kave liked to have gotten a 5.1 system but that would be a waste due to space restrictions. My budget is less than $100.00, preferably around $75.00. I mostly game and never play music CDs or movie DVDs; though I will be getting into home video editing. Thanks.

I bought a Creative 4.1 surround system from walmart about 3 years ago for 50 dollars. I suggest it, but i have not had any others.

Zeyf414,
How does this look http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836116153
Shucks, I just realized you have a 5.1 soundcard and these speakers are 7.1, you should be able to configure these speakers to your 5.1 soundcard. If you decide on going with these speakers or something similar with a 7.1 setup, you may think about upgrading your sound card in the future to take full advantage of the speaker setup. I would prefer this over a 2.1 setup that will probably run you about the same amount of money......

I've been using these Logitech 2.1 speakers for several months now,if your not going to be listening to a lot of music they do just fine. They are lacking in the mid-range but even that can be overcome to some extent by equalization. The bass responce is good and I find myself turning down the sub's level at times also the treble is crystal clear and well pronounced for a budgit set of speakers.
The price...under $40.00 Check them out! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16836121119

I would not trade my 4 year old Klipsch Pro Media 2.1's for anything.

Hey, thanks everyone for your replies! I posted this on the 12th and I didn't get any replies until now. Appreciate it. Yes, would love to own the Klipsch 2.1 but that is out of my price range.
Still haven't decided yet. It seems that 2.1 speaker systems in my budget seem to lack mid-range sound capabilities.

Zeyf414,
It's too bad your budget is $100, the Klipsch Pro Media 2.1's are around $120-150......... The lowest price I've seen was at Amazon, 95 bucks without shipping but they are refurbished, that sucks.. I haven't looked at Ebay yet?? Are you in much of a hurry?? I would save up and buy the Klipsch 2.1 brand new, they are worth it....good luck with your purchase.
