Quick question. Just ordered 1GB RAM (200-Pin DDR SO-DIMM DDR 333 / PC 2700) from Newegg - should've asked this before buying...

The RAM currently installed (1GB) has a CL2.5. The one ordered has CL2, supposedly better/faster than CL2.5.

Did I make a mistake??? Maybe should've purchased a stick with CL2.5 to match my currently installed RAM? Or CL doesn't matter as long as the type of RAM is correct?

Can you help? Need to void purchase if I was wrong. Thanks.

The new ram will only run at the slower speed of the two,so buying CL2 won't give you any boosts.Your better off buying an exact duplicate of what you have or replacing your existing stick with a matched pair.

Thank you for replying!

I have a Dell 700M laptop... I think it's 200 pin... I think...

So, essentially buying a new stick with CL2 isn't going to do me any good? Won't hurt me, either... From your response, I'm gathering that the stick that I have is CL2.5, so the new one with CL2 ain't going to help boost performance... correct?
