Hello! I try to use Videora to convert my Media Center recording into IPOD format, the video is fine, but there is no sound. When I try to convert DVDs with Videora everything is fine. Please let me know if I need to set up Videora converter differently to convert media Center files.

Thanks!

It will not work. I also run windows XP (MCE), and have experimented with Videora, but to no avail.

However, I have had relative success using PQDVD. I have transcoded many dvr-ms files and transferred them to my iPod without any problems.

PQDVD is a great program which I swear by, and recommend to anyone. Great advanced features intertwinned with a newb-friendly interface. However, it does come at a price of $35.

It's your choice, but as a final note, I have yet to come across a _free_ converter that caters for dvr-ms files.. they don't even play in VLC!

More info can be found through this link.

My stickied guide has pages of PQDVD q's and a's, and you can always post in there if you've any further enquiries..

Thanks, Lethal B. Actually, I use Video Vault for my Media Center downloads, I've tried it first, I like it and I bought it, but Videora is much faster, so I tried to use it. I will continue to use Video Vault. Thanks again for your help.

The only drawback - there is no batch converter, you have to convert files one by one. I convert all my recordings on weekends and it would be much more convenient specify the list of files and leave at night to convert all of them.
