Looking for some ideas

My machine was running great up to a week ago when my norton subscription ran out. I decided to install McAfee security suite 2006 just for a bit of a change (and that I didn't want to pay norton any more money!!).

Since then, none of my downloads in Azureus will start (all the smilies are grey). The only activity is in the uploads and only 4x of them seem to be running!! I don't have a router (direct ether connect to a surfboard 5100 modem) and only the McAfee firewall is active (disabled the windows one).

I have tried forwarding the port number and opened the port in McAfee but still not getting any more downloads/uploads.

Any Ideas????

Try a full uninstall of McAfee to make sure that is it. If it is then you have to make sure when you reinstall it that you set your client and your modem in your McAfee Firewall as exceptions. Any private site your a member of should have instructions on a work around. You can also check Azureus wedsite/forum for some answers or their IRC site. You can probably search this forum as well.

Think I have tried most of that, been on the Azureus site for the last 2 days looking for answers. The strange thing is that all other connections (eg IE, Realplayer, iTunes, etc...) seem to be working perfectly well, it just Azureus that has the problems.

Really beginning to BUG!!!

None of those other programs work like a p2p client does. Try this site for solutions. They wrote Azureus. http://sourceforge.net/projects/browseazureus

I have the same client and security system, and no problems here.
What version of Azureus are you running, and what site are the torrents from?
