Open DVD Decrypter.
Click MODE>ISO>WRITE.
Insert one of those "Verbatim" DVDs.
Look at the panel on the right hand side.
Paste here what it says.

When the booktype field (bitsetting) is changed to DVD-ROM then DVD players are fooled and will think the user has put in a DVD-ROM disc instead of a DVD+R disc and will read it accordingly. This results in an increased chance that the player is able to read the disc and that?s why the ability to change the booktype field (bitsetting) is essential to a lot of users. Certainly owners of a DVD player that requires this field to be set to DVD-ROM, in order to work properly, will prefer a DVD recorder that supports setting the booktype field. - Quote from CDFreaks.com

Those discs you are using are fake verbatim discs, where did you buy them from? And yes, burn them at 2x and if it stll won't work then it won't work without better discs, I would never use those CMC Mag (Magnetics) discs, they are very bad quality and will wear out your laser quicker.

it says 2.4x is the supported burn SPEEDS
2.4x gives more problems than it's worth.. Even some media will say right on the label not to burn at 2.4x and if that's the only speed it will burn at that is really bad...
