i hate that i can't find any freakin USA versiosn of games, just PAL. and so i tried a couple different patchers, one which i've seen discussed here a lot, the one with the y-fix. well, none of the patchers work. i tried it on tomb raider legend, burnout revenge, and the warriors. i used y-fix of 32. i also tried having it make a video mode selector. the games will boot to the selector, but no matter what i pick, ntsc with yfix, ntsc, or pal, the game just never loads after that. wtf... is there no patchers that actually work?

and i'd heard from people in europe that most all pal games have an option to set the mode to ntsc at startup, resident evil 4 did, but these three games i tried didn't...

use Swap Magic 3.6 can change the colour system (NTSC,PAL)
use video mode for those PAL game to ntsc(video mode to ntsc),
Press (SQUARE) although you can use X its advised that you use Square
tested tomb raider it works

only the cd version of SM has the video mode option and my ps2 will not read cds now. why they don't have the option on the dvd version is beyond me...

if you have mod chip,you can convert sm 3.6 cd ver to dvd ver and burn it

hmm, you mean copy the cd version to dvd, then do what, load the real SM dvd, then insert my backup/converted disc?
i didn't even think that cd was copy-able cause when you look at the bottom of the disc the data is written not in one continues stream but small streams here and there.

hey,
i tried copying the cd to dvd. copying the img file you told me about. but when i try to burn it with Nero it tries to burn it as a cd and tells me to insert the correct disc type. i even tried mounting it with Alcohol 120% then chooisng Copy DVD from Nero. says it must be burnt onto CD... have you actually done this before?

dude the DVD version of Swap Magic 3.6 definatley has the ability to choose video mode as well.

I use it alot.

I couldn't get any of the video mode patchers to work but Swap Magic works good.

well i bought SM3 and what they sent me was a CD version 3.2 and a DVD version 2.0.
so maybe if i download a newer DVD version?

maybe try get them to send you the proper discs.

cos it will piss u off after a while having to double swap each time, eeven if it works.

u could try downloading SM3.6 tho.

yeah i ordered 3.6 and got a 2.0 disc but i just figured that was normal since the cd was a newer version. it's been too long since i ordered now to do anything tho.
i did download ZoneLoader tho and it plays PAL games just fine. i tried it on The Warriors tho and there was no center screen option so it sucked. and i swear there must be some kind of odd copy protection cause the first guy you fight in story mode is invincible once he's almost dead. i've heard of pc games that pull similar stunts.
the picture also looked slightly elongated, but i'm not sure. i'm still debating rather or not to burn NFS:most wanted or not. i dunno if there's a screen centering option on it either.
