Hey I was thinking about buying this tv

but i heard that it had bad screen bowing (and i would be playing alot of xbox360, so thats not acceptable)

So I was wondering if either of these tv's where any diffrent?

The one from circuit city is the newer of the two. I have been thinking myself of getting it. Just do a google search and read reviews from owners concerning the samsung. Dont forget LG also has the new one out and its suppose to be just as good or better than samsung. AVS Forum really helps concerning tvs.

yea...well i just went out and bought a toshiba from best buy and i like it, so im happy it was olny 599.99

toshiba makes good high quality and reliable tv's right?

They do but you bought last years model. This years model has a black frame and a built-in DTV tuner.

Toshiba 30HFX85 ($899)...

For $899 I would get the new Samsung Slim-fit which doesn't have geometry problems like last years model and is fully loaded with 2 HDMI inputs.

but as far as picture quality and reliablity, toshiba is just as good as samsung right?

Hey man, I just got the samsung TXS30882W... Do not get it! It kinda arches the picture (I am returning it tomorrow). I do play 360 on it but you can't notice it unless you have horizontal lines or like the black widescreen bars. What it does, is it bends all horizontal lines. So you wont see any straight lines. You wont notice if your watching TV at full screen or when playing a game.

No, to most the Toshiba looks a little fuzzy when compared to the rest of the tvs this year. I don't know why that is but it is very noticable even after properly calibrating the tv.

Yes, every slim CRT I've seen bows horizontal lines. This years Samsung 30" slim fit is the best out of the bunch. LGs slim-CRT is one of the worst (yet people still like em).

crt tube are the best possible tv quality.... regardless of plasma or what ever everyone says ...

anoter tip . try to get things only from costco :P .... they have LIFETIME FULL CASH RETURN POLICY. on everything.. say you buy a crt tube ( if you find any ) you pay 1200 and you get bored of it in 3 years... return it no questions asked and you get your cash back . not store credit or exchange... cash ... its a warranty from them on their entire store . doesnt matter if you get bored of it or it breaks or w/e.... thats whre i got my 360 ... hehehe

The good: Highest resolution of any consumer direct-view HDTV; independent memory per input; excellent color decoding.
