ok so i found a store in canada its staples lol. I did research and i found that verbatim is one of your guys favourites so i decided well ill go get my self a handfull of these verbatim thingies.. But what im just not sure is the part in the guide where it says Taiyo Yuden,Verbatim (Japan). Does that mean there are diferent copies of verbatim and only a small percentage of the copies are trustworthy? I have a site of the store thats near me that selling verbatim, i did the search and added the page number all in one link so you guys dont have to waste your time searching.
http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/cat_class.asp?CatIds=89%2C98&na...
are these those Taiyo Yuden,Verbatim (Japan)cd's thats trustworthy for my ps2? There are alot of different verbatim packages there, you have to press next page...
Thanks Nicky

Also just so you know my ps2 version is 9. My dvd burner is LG(i dont know what model my grandpa installed it for me). I havent burnt -r's yet, only burnt +r/+rw and works... I modded my ps2 yesterday and the modder gave me a DVD+R game and it works. I tried burning a downloaded game with DVD+RW but doesnt work but if i play a movie on DVD+RW it works. Im so confused lol.
Then there comes booktyping.....should i go with -r's or +r's for burning downloaded games on ps2.

i used dvd identifier on the maxell cd my modder game me (dvd+r) and it shows:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD+R:CMC MAG-M01-000]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disc & Book Type : [DVD+R] - [DVD+R]
Manufacturer Name : [CMC Magnetics Corp.]
Manufacturer ID : [CMC MAG]
Media Type ID : [M01]
Product Revision : [Not Specified]
Blank Disc Capacity : [Not Supported By Method 2]
Recording Speeds : [1x-2.4x , 4x , 6x-8x]
[Method 2 Might Not Always Detect All Speeds]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[ DVD Identifier V4.3.0 - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
From what i researched the keywords cmc & mag is bad media??? While on the other hand my DVD+RW that i tested on my own which is a "ridata" disk doesnt show the cmc & mag stuff on the dvd identifier program and doesnt boot on my ps2. Confusing things why isnt anyone replying to my posts i have had sufficient ammount of research in my issues so one shouldn't ignore me as i cant find the answer to my problems.

ok i did some more testing regarding if i can burn dvd-r's on my burner. I found some "no name" disks that i used when i first got my burner and used dvd identifier. I dont know whether or not it is a dvd+ or dvd- because it has no lettering on the top of the cd or package. (thats probably why its a no-name product) lol :D
here is the dvd identifier clipboard.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD-R:OPTODISCR008]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disc & Book Type : [DVD-R] - [DVD-R]
Manufacturer Name : [Optodisc Technology Corp.]
Manufacturer ID : [OPTODISCR008]
Blank Disc Capacity : [2,298,496 Sectors = 4.71 GB (4.38 GiB)]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[ DVD Identifier V4.3.0 - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
From there it says dick and book type it looks like its a DVD-R media and i have burnt it many many times so it must mean that my burner is capable of burning dvd-r's right?? Im new to these things i just modded my ps2 yesterday and i havent burnt any games other than movies. Please respond im a noob that doesnt ask stupid questions as this shows in this thread that i am trying really hard to find answers for my questions.

does dvd-ram mean dual layer by any chance?? If it does i never knew i had a dual layer burner before lol. Now that just leaves my original question regarding the staples site. Look at my first post for the link are those verbatim disks trustworthy or are those fake by any chance and which one should i pick up considering all the research ive done on my burner. ( theres alot of verbatim packs on staples).

if you have nothing good to say then dont say anything at all maybe i would run out of characters if i put it all in one post sir. Forums are meant to be helping each other in times of need not spreading worthless statements "its called edit". Obviously if i had just one or 2 sentences i would edit but i have charts full of information so read before you post little kid.
