Oh no everyone..... got a problem again...

I've got the RAR files for Gradius Portable and it as follows after extraction:

+GRADIUSP
+PSP
+x

I copy all 3 of them to the root of my PSP and when I tried to start the game it shows me:

Press O to extract system files from UMD - First Time
Press X to run UMD

So I press the O button and it shows me:

File Extract Error

So what is happening? I have already inserted the demo UMD, is it becos of that as it is not a game UMD?

Please advise....

Hey JOEVA its me agen. I tried having both DBZ and the Samurai game on the PSP but somehow the Samurai game doesnt work and the DBZ game does. Samurai game justs resets my PSP like last time. Do i need to change the version agen? And also i tried putting on a game called NBA but it seems like it has its own loader. Its loader is either very slow or i am too eager (it seemd like it wasnt loading).
sorry man i was real bizzy during the week.

nba does need its own launcher, however i dont believe you can change the bus speed on that particular game. you can try clocking the psp at 333 mhz using umdemulator. but since you dont use umd emulator to play it i don't kno if it will work. jus a thought.
As for samarai, you may have just gotten a bad iso. Try downloading a different copy. You don't need to do any more tricking tho.

Hello.... Juz want to know more...

I'm juz curious whether is there ISO for UMD movies? Is the disc content similar to that of UMD game?

If there is, can we use the same loader we use for movies?

Thanks!

Yes there are UMD Movie ISOs. You can boot them using UMD Emulator. Just change the ISO type to movie. And start it in direct load mode.

Hmm.... can anyone explain how to extract the game from UMD in details and save it as ISO files which I can use later? What software to use?

There is also another question and someone might have to solution to it. Since memory stick duo max. capacity is only 2GB and PSP also uses USB to transfer datas, is there a way to connect the PSP to a portable notebook harddisk which have a bigger capacity and uses a software in PSP to access the contents from the harddisk and play ISO games from it? If its possible, then we can save tons of games in the harddisk itself without using the memory stick duo. Someone please study on it.

Hope to see more improvement... :)

For a guide on how to dump UMDs go here:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/283828

Currently there is no way to run ISOs over the network, but you can dump UMDs onto your computers hard drive over the network using UMD Net ripper. (Find the download link here: http://eternal-psp.com/dl.htm)

I made it!! I have created the ISO from my UMD. But I have doubts again....

After obtaining the ISO, I found that the space for the ISO is very big. Is there any method to reduce the size of the file and still able to run it.

Please explain.

Thanks!!

That is normal. It is big as developers have put a dummy file on to it (to push data to the edge of the disc, so it can be read faster). You can reduce the size using UMD Ripper (download it from here:http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/180)

Hmm... can't get the UMD Ripper to work. Can you please kindly explain in details?

By the way, I have a few game ISO which cannot start (Shanghai, Megaman Powered Up and etc.), everytime it give me the msg with the error FFFFFED3. What could be the problem?

Thanks for the help...

UMD movie isos do not work. I dont know why umd emulator has the option there when it doesnt work, wishful thinking i guess.

To make a game dump smaller youll need umdripper and umdgen.
