My first guesses...

1) Is it possible that parental controls have been set up on either the TV or on the DVD player, to keep one from playing movies which have a rating more restrictive than "PG," for example?

2) Is it possible that the DVD player at her house is simply not able to play the TYPE of media that you used (for example, you used a DVD-R disc, and her DVD player cannot handle those; or, you used a DVD+R disc, and her DVD player cannot handle those?)

Could possibly be a (PAL or NTSC) issue.

What program did you use to convert the AVI to DVD?

I see you said you converted it to DVD and burend with Nero. So I am not gonna assume yet that you used Nero vision express.

Anyway whatever program you converted the AVI with check and see what you have the output format set at.

It could be whatever format you outputed it to it needs to be the other. So if your Aunts TV is an NTSC TV and is not compatible with PAL then the DVD needs to be NTSC format.

I also think that is the problem with "PAL"or"NTSC".If the TV is "NTSC", the dvd must be the same too.So you may need to convert again. That will be OK.
good luck

If you have it set to auto choose it will choose to convert to whatever format the AVI file has more of. Most AVI files have more PAL characteristics then NTSC so it probably will convert to PAL if you have it set to auto choose.

At least that is the issue when I convert AVI files. I have it set as NTSC default and always get a warning saying there are more PAL in the AVI file then NTSC do you want to continue with NTSC format.

Before I had it set at auto choose and it would always convert to PAL format due to I?m sure it having more PAL in the AVI file then NTSC. So I changed the default to NTSC.
