Just another question - If I try to add a DVD folder (or it's files)to a Nero recode project, that's literally all I can do! I cannot go to the next screen. I have encountered this problem several times and in the end just quit using Nero for such purpose.

I use Cyberlink Power Producer and Power Director which not only let me add files on the hard Drive but will also recode .wmv files. That said Power Director doesn't let me burn the end product to the Hard Drive as it cannot seem to be able to create a folder. I get an error pop up with a yellow exclamation mark and absolutely zero explanation......

So I have to create an MPeg with Power Producer - drag it into nero and edit it with Nero Vision - I then have to output the end product to the Hard Disc as I am unable to burn to my DVD recorder at the moment also (covered in another thread). I guess you cannont win - that there seem to be reduntancies in just about all these programs - worst of all is that companies such as cyberlink have an official line that you should not have Nero installed if you are running their products..... In which case how would you burn Music, Data etc....

Sounds like typical - eliminate the competition tactics and no more...... Have taken one or other product off without it fixing the problem - guess the logic is twisted here.

Anyhow's has anyone else had this problem with Recode 2? Am running the latest version.....

Yeh, I thought I was the only one having a problem with PowerDirector 5 not creating a DVD file to my HD. I tried all last night. First it wouldn't let me burn to disc, I thought maybe its my new burner, this would have been it's first burn. (BenQ DW1 655)

So I thought I would just render to a file and burn with Nero. Wrong, both times all PowerDirector would do is 1% after 2 hours both times. I'm waiting on a responce from them now on how to fix this issue. Wished I had not bought this now, I did not notice the statement about not having Nero installed on your PC? Surly this can't be the problem can it?

That part comes with the reply from customer service.........! I have no problem at all with power director - power producer though is quite another story - spend ages assembling and editing your final DVD and can't even burn it to an image file................let alone the Hard Disc or DVD-Disc. I had problems also with Power Producer 2 Gold. Power Director works sweetly taking .wmv files, DivX and many other formats (some like wmv) not supported by Nero and Mpegs them beautifully!
Nero actually did a great job of smart encoding them to the destination drive on my USB2 HD - only problem is it did not really save the changes I made to the menu beforehand!!!

Am happy with the end result, now if there was any way at all to get it onto a Ridata 8.5DL +R I'd be ecstatic.Guess this ain't gonna happen any time soon though!
