Have a PC with the MCE 2005 XP OS. TV can be recorded to the Hard Drive in a DRV type process to be viewed when desired on the PC.
Also can burn the MCE recorded TV files to DVD with the supplied Sonic Software. But when attempting to burn certain programs (HBO's 'The Sopranos' for example) the request is rejected with a message that the material is protected! Anyone know a software that will allow editing/encoding/burning these MCE recorded TV files. All I want to do is burn to DVD to allow watching on my TV versus my PC.

HBO's Sopranos is copy protected, and as with any file once it is on your computer there really is no way to break the protection that I know of. You can do it before it hits the computer but not after. Some files you may be able to transfer to a video mp3 player, which in turn can be played back through a TV, but they still remain copy protected.

I have located a prog that allows for converting the created files from recording "live tv" and allows for conversion I believe to "burnable files".
